Born 1956. Novice at age 12 as WN0YMK and I’ve been ‘code crazy’ ever since. ARRL code proficiency award of 35 wpm at age 13. Extra at age 20, given AB0S. Like many of us, I started out on CW traffic nets. I’ve always enjoyed DXing, but never super serious about it. I love contesting – CW, RTTY, SSB in that order. Been a serious multi-op Sweepstakes player since 1978 (various calls, including AB0S, K0WA, W0NO, W0CEM). Almost always SS top ten in both SSB and CW – using only 1 radio. Favorite contests: SS, NAQP CW, NA Sprint CW. Home station: K3, KPA500, KAT50, ground mounted multi-band vertical 80-10m. Zoning limited to antennas under 30 feet. Employed as a financial controller at one of AGCO Corporation’s many manufacturing facilities. Looking forward to becoming a full-time ham in another 5 years or so.
