I was first licensed with the novice call letters WD6EPV in 1977. An older navy pilot and amateur radio operator who became my mentor issued my first 5-wpm Morse code test to me over the telephone.
Much later in the 1980’s, I upgraded to Extra class license, with the call letters AA6W. I was very active with VHF/UHF and satellite operations in the mid 1990’s. I achieved Satellite DXCC around 1992.
I really love contesting and DXing these days. I love to operate the CW SS, and CW WPX contests each year. Sometimes, I try to help various clubs with their CW efforts during Field Day.
I work as a substitute school teacher. I have been employed by a local elementary school district for over 10 years. And, I have also taught at the local high school district, now for about 3 years. I hope to hear some of you ladies and gentlemen in the CWT mini tests…these mini contests are great fun!
I really appreciate the CWops club, and I am very proud to be a club member.
