I was born in 1980.
My path in amateur radio began in 1991 in the youth club of the radio station UR4EYT. In 1994 I was licensed with the call UR5ECW which I own today.
My main passions in the radio are contesting and DXing. I was very active at the end of the ‘90s and the beginning of the ‘00s.
Due to personal reasons, I was almost out of the radio from 2003 to 2017. But starting in 2018 I am again active enough. Mostly from my tiny home setup but also our local contest position as UW4E.
I like to travel and for the last 4 years I have been participating in the Ukrainian DX Contest from different stations and countries – J42L, ES9C, DM9EE, and UW5Y. So, if you need a guest operator for the contest, let me know 🙂
The main HAM goals now are to complete the DXCC honor roll, be a participant at the WRTC, and join a DX-pedition to the rare entity.
In everyday life, I work as a Software Engineer for “Sitecore” company.
Besides the radio, I am fond of the intellectual game “What? Where? When?” and I played in various local and international competitions.
This game is not very known outside ex USSR countries but if you are interested you can find some details here – https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/What%3F_Where%3F_When%3F
Additionally, I’m an inveterate table tennis player. With our corporate team, we were able to win the last cup among the Ukrainian IT companies.
And finally, there is nothing better than the ice-cold beer after the contest 🙂
